These huggie earrings are easy everyday earrings. They are light weight and mixed metal, they can go with any outfit and any activity. The bronze huggies have sterling silver earwires. They open and close securely with a snap. I hand carved the spikes out of wax and had them cast. The center of the spikes almost look like an eye of a needle. There is a channel along the outer edge creating a double line look from the front. A channel is also carved out from the center where the hole is all the way to the tip. This gives the spikes a lovely dimension. The spikes slip directly onto the huggies. Be careful when taking them off and putting them on so the spike doesn't fall. The bronze huggie hoops are 0.5" in diameter, with the spike they are 1.25" long
